Having a dream about winning money is an exciting experience. Most people who win money in their dreams report waking up feeling positive, confident, and excited about life.
However, for many people, winning money in a dream leads to more questions. The common question that gets asked is “what does it mean to win money in a dream?” I think what most want to know is,
- Will I win money or get rich in the near future?
- Should I take action to try and make my dream of winning money a reality?
- Does winning money in a dream have any deep significance in my life?
Before I address those questions in more detail I want to offer a word of caution; since every persons’ dream is individual and subjective, it’s impossible to know the exact meaning of all dreams about winning money. What I’m offering is my opinion based on personal experience and research on the subject of dream interpretation.
With that said, I believe there are 3 explanations for winning money in a dream.
1. Your dream was JUST a dream
Our brain is a wonderfully complicated thing. I believe that a lot of what we experience in dreams is a combination of random images we’ve seen, experiences we’ve had, and emotions we’ve felt.
In an experiment conducted on patients with amnesia Dr. Stickgold discusses how dreams are like filing systems.
… when the brain is filing away the memories it needs to keep, it has to go through a series of steps, and dreaming is a manifestation of one crucial step. Dreams are just the body’s way of clearing out the mental “inbox”.
A lot of REM [rapid eye-movement] dreams, those really quirky, strange, bizarre dreams that we have late at night, is the brain looking for ways to cross-index.
So if you’ve won money in a dream in a familiar way, it’s possible that it was just your brain randomly filing away different connections. To determine if your dream of winning big bucks was in fact, just a dream, here are a few questions to ask yourself.
- Have I tried to win money this way before?
- Do I know someone who won money this way?
- Did I recently see, hear, or read about someone winning money in this way?
If none of those questions apply to your dream, perhaps there’s a deeper explanation.
2. Your dream is symbolic
According to the dream dictionary at DreamMoods.com
To see or win money in your dream indicates that success and prosperity is within your reach. Money represents confidence, self-worth, success, or values.
So it may mean that you’ve been doing much better in life. Maybe you’ve started to achieve goals you’ve set. Or have started developing a new positive relationship.
On the flip side, dreaming about winning money could indicate that you’re preoccupied with being comfortable. In our culture most believe that having more money means being more secure.
If you’re feeling a general sense of lack as opposed to abundance, your dream could be a coping mechanism for the financial stress you’re feeling. This is common when people are living paycheck-to-paycheck or facing other financial hardships.
Even if you are struggling financially, there’s still one other possible meaning of a dream about winning money.
3. The universe is guiding you to win money
The most exciting possibility about dreams of winning money, is the chance that in some crazy way, the universe has sent you a sign. Perhaps you are destined to win a lot of money.
You’ll never know unless you take action to make your dream a reality. Here are my suggestions for making your dream of winning money a reality.
Take action
If you had a dream about winning the lottery, buy a lottery ticket. If you dreamed about winning thousands in cash and prizes on The Price is Right, apply for tickets to a taping.
Taking action towards your dream is the first step. And remember, you’re more likely to regret the things you don’t do, than the things you actually do.
Try to recreate the dream as accurately as possible
Most dreams are difficult if not impossible to recreate. However, you should try your best to remember important details and use them on your quest to win money.
Did you pick certain lottery numbers, were you at a certain casino, were you playing a specific game? Those details could be the universes way of guiding you on your journey. So pay careful attention to all the details you can.
Don’t go overboard
It’s one thing to buy a few lottery tickets because you dreamed you won the lottery. It’s another thing to bet your life savings on a football team you dreamed won the big game.
At the end of the day, trying to win money should be fun and exciting. But it shouldn’t get you in trouble financially.

in my opinion, this means that you ARE going to win 2-3 million dollars. my advice to you is to pray to GOD/the Universe for guidance in letting you know what to do next (in addition, ask for patience and peacefulness in your life) as well as ‘listening’ and acting on your intuition IMMEDIATELY when it comes upon you.

I had this weird, dream about an ATM that was,making a special game, like a TV show, asking questions, and would deliver a price if you knew the answer.
I remember watching the show with one of my businesses partner, that i currently work with ( not in the dream). As the show went on i realized i knew all the answers, but 1 so i rushed to the ATM, and started playing.The last answer, i had no idea what it was, but my partner did. So agreed on splitting so he told me the answer, i even remember it was “chañaral” and the input code was 0009. This is a town in Chile. I also remember that my partner tried on the ATM next to me, but didn’t have any luck. The dream was so detailed, there was a time limit which was running i could see the second ticking, and i managed to make the last input with 3 seconds left. The machine started throwing out money a lot, the total was 25 million US. Me and my partner just kept stacking in a big box a lot, felt good. Our plans while staking was to get 2 tickets to the Caribbean.
On the mean time some fat guy showed up saying the money was his, that he knew the answer, that we had cheated.I really didn’t pay much attention to him as my partner did, i suspected that my partner had something to do with that guy, so i asked him what was going on and he gave me a strange explanation which i did not understand at the time, but i asked him if he wanted me to get rid of the fat guy, he said please, so threatened him, and called security. After that, i woke up, with a very pleasant feeling, while i laid on my bed i was so impressed that i could remember all the details, and i had this great feeling of joy.
Tonight (night after my dream) we have a jackpot draw at our social club – the jackpot prize is $1000 i dreamt last night that i took my young baby boy along to the draw and let him choose the card – which was the winning card then he had to choose a hat & it was ($9663) I was stoked and jumping around so excited.
Hopefully it comes true as the draw is tonight
